Millipore (then Merck) acquired Serologicals and no longer needed Serologicals’ former current good manufacturing practice (cGMP)-compliant fractionation facility in Lawrence, Kansas. Securing a buyer for such a technical facility would not be easy.
Facility Logix worked with the local Colliers International office and secured a buyer out of California. Plastikon is a plastics and contract manufacturer that was able to utilize the building’s infrastructure to support its manufacturing lines. The sale of the property was completed during the economic downturn in late 2010.
